If you do occasional work on other people's computers and are tired of simply travelling to their place to hit a restore point, then the TeamViewer - Free Desktop Sharing and Remote Control program is something you are going to love. It literally allows you to take over another computer on the net who has given you access to do that, and allows you to work their computer as if you were setting in the chair in front of their monitor. Have a look if you help others and need an easier way to do it. I wish this was available years ago as it would have saved me a lot of miles travel.
There is an enormous amount of what is known as Open Source software available online for you to download and use. If you hop over to the Open Source Alternative - Find Open Source Alternatives to commercial software site you will find a great mix of software and being all open source, meaning you can use it forever for free. Now that has to be good. Enjoy.
Trying to find a blog of interest to you is like trying to find the proverbial needle in the hay stack. However, things like the Blog Directory, Blogs, Blog Sites -- BlogCatalog site will help you find what you are looking for and works pretty much like any other search facility. Have a look. It may be worth the download.
You no doubt have seen, usually when you go to purchase something online, a little box that asks if you have a promotional code or coupon code. If you don't it might be a good idea to check out the coupon codes, promotional codes and discount codes at DealHunting.com site as they seem to have heaps of them for all kinds of items. Have a look. You might save some money.
I love photographing different things, like the hot rods at the WinterSun festival here, close up shots of flowers, my grandsons, and many other things. One thing I am always on the lookout for is a way to learn how to do it better. If you're a bit of a photography buff yourself you might want to have a look at the photography Share, Learn, Create in the Photography.com Community site. There is an enormous amount to learn at this site so it will take a while to really gain benefit from it but hang in there. I've learned a lot over time. Now, if I could only afford that SLR body with the four Leica lenses.......
There are a number of sites that deal with video clips much like You Tube does that are usually worth a check every once in a while. One such site is the Helpfulvideo · Watch Video Clips. Share, Upload, Sale, Buy, Download Videos which can be fun occasionally, but a word of warning. They also seem to mix video clips with ads, so be careful and make sure you know what you're about to view. Enjoy.
If you're a young person in school and have homework to do, help may be at hand from someone you may already know. BJ Pinchbeck has contributed to a site called the DiscoverySchool.com offers help with homework. site. Seeing as it's by Disney I suggest it's probably pretty good to use and young Mr Pinchbeck is worth a visit himself. Have a look. It might just help.
One of the nice things you can do on your computer is not only download music to play, but you can also download Free Audio Books that will play and let you listen to the story. Reminds me when radio did that. Anyway, these are great so hop over and download great books for free from the folk at Open Culture. That has to be good.
You may have joined one of the social network sites already. I haven't but then I don't see the need either. Having said that, did you know you can create your own social network at the Ning - Create your own Social Networks! site? I didn't either until I stumbled on it. Have a look. It may be the start of a whole new thing to occupy your time with.
Speaking of social networking did you know that there is one geared to people my age as well? It's called Retroland and if anything will take you back to your childhood this will. And you thought social networking sites were all for the kids. Not on your Nelly. *smile*
Teachers have a rough time of it at times trying to make lesson plans interesting for their students. Thus, a site like TEACHNET.ORG which contains breaking news, lesson plans, teacher research, and tips for new teachers, has to be worth a bookmark for any teacher out there. .If you're in the teaching profession you need to look at this site. Bookmark it for future use.
Who doesn't know who Dracula was? Ok, not the film version one, but the real one? If you hop over to the Dracula's Castle site you'll read all about a fellow who camr pretty close to being the real thing, and may well have been the actual inspiration for the tale. Not nice, but certainly interesting. Now, about the Abominable Snowman...
