Hello and welcome to Mac's Picks of the Week. If you are interested in why this site exists, how it operates, and a little about Mac, then click on the Why and How Info link and see what is there. When you have finished please return to this Home page and see what sites I have chosen this week to receive a Mac's Picks of the Week award. Thank you for visiting and please share this site with friends, family, and colleagues who you feel will enjoy it.

This page is updated on a weekly basis, each Monday Australian (Queensland) time (GMT + 10 hours according to the world clock). Please come back and visit often.

I thought it might be an idea to suggest something different for your menu, and found the Cook Korean site for you to see. It has some great sounding recipes but it also has some unique sounding advice from the Webmistress. Have a look at the category of recipes you're looking for, then look at the "Healthy Food For Healthy Life" page and read up on the folk remedies from Korea. Interesting to say the least.

Learning comes in a variety of ways, and the Puzzles in Education - Puzzle of the Week site will give you some excellent examples of that. Have a look. You never know how it may help you as well.

Everyone needs to take the occasional break just to clear the mind when working hard on the computer and therefore attack the problems you face with a fresh outlook. Thus sites like the MarkTAW games site are worth the time taken in going to them for a break. However, caution is advised. This site is SO addictive, make sure you have your work done or that 5 minute break is liable to be interrupted by dinner.

When looking for a new blog you really need to know what subject you are interested in. And trust me; there is a blog out there somewhere that covers your interest. One way to find new blogs to read is to use the Blogdigger Blog Search Engine site to search blogs you might find of interest. If you can't find a blog on the subject that captivates your imagination maybe it's time for you to write one for others to find.

You are no doubt aware that Google Earth is both free and a fantastic program. And hopefully you also know that Microsoft's Virtual Earth is also amazing in its scope. Therefore you might like to have a look at Ogle Earth A blog about virtual globes, with a special focus on Google Earth. This really is a great blog on the subject of this type of software and you'll be amazed at the things you can learn here about both programs. Have a read and see what you think.

Religions all around the globe have their own Sacred Sites. Thus, sites like Sacred Sites at Sacred Destinations - Explore sacred sites, religious sites, sacred places may well be worth a bookmark. It doesn't matter what religion you adhere to you'll find the sacred sites listed here. Nice idea.

Have you ever had that embarrassing situation where you're talking with someone online and they speak a different language than you? You normally stumble around their language, murdering it in the process, but at least trying to speak so they understand you. Thus, the Translator Beta From Microsoft might also be worth having in your bookmark or favourites folder so you can go to it, enter what you wish to say, choose the translation required, and hit enter. Then copy what it says and past it in your chat window. Nice software.

There are a number of how to sites on the net of interest, but none more so than the wikiHow - The How-To Manual That Anyone Can Write or Edit site. In other words, look up something on this site, and if you have any relevant information on that subject, submit it for others to read and benefit from. These collaborative sites are wonderful in their concept and this one can become one of the best. Join in now and help others with your knowledge.

One of the standbys of writing is Roget's Thesaurus. It allows you to look up word or term and then it provides you with alternatives - so you don't continue repeating yourself in your writing. Therefore a site where you can Downloads - Roget`s Thesaurus 1.1 Freeware Software has to be a benefit to us all. Download and install it, then don't forget to use it. *smile*

My family always have been voracious readers. Thus one closet in our home has become a dedicated bookshelf and library. However, if you go to the LibraryThing Catalogue your books online site you can not only catalogue your own books, but also see what others are reading or have read in their own libraries. Nice idea.

We all know that journalism is not an easy profession to embark on. And keeping up with some of the journalists involved in the US political scene can only be seen as a real challenge. Thus, the LiveLeak.com - Redefining the Media site is somewhat unique in that it will give you insights into some things you may never normally hear about. From political speeches to the latest news it's all here. It might not make your 6 o'clock report but it's all here. Enjoy.

The net is a fantastic place. It shows you the wonders of the world, keeps you up to date with news, music, films and commentary, and every once in a while shows you a real gem of a site. Unfortunately, the Press The Spacebar site isn't one of those, and you ultimately have to ask yourself why anyone would pay to host such a site online?? My last comment on this site? This is for the really bored to try. *shakes head and goes back to seeing how many M&M's he can stack on top of each other*.
