This page is updated on a weekly basis, each Monday Australian (Queensland) time (GMT + 10 hours according to the world clock). Please come back and visit often.
If you have younger members of your household faced with homework assignments you might like to take them to the Ask For Kids site. It is run by the folks at Ask.com and they have a great place to find help on almost anything. Have a look and seeing as it's geared for their level, bookmark it for your young folk for future use as well.
Like all of us, I am getting older and have a condition that makes walking difficult at times. It is important for me to arrange some source of exercise to keep myself reasonably fit. Luckily I also am interested in the local weather because, believe it or not, I can predict a thunder storm within an hour of it commencing, just from feelings in my legs and feet. Thus, the weather.com - Fitness Hourly Forecast - Brisbane site is particularly useful as it keeps me informed of the local weather, and also what time of the day would be best for going out for a walk, and if I could, participating in some other healthy pursuit. Have a look and tune it to your local area as well. Who knew weather sites could be this interesting?
And speaking of exercise, the Exercise Adherence Techniques site is a good article with sound advice on planning your own exercise program no matter what that program is. Have a look, and keep walking.
If you are a frequent visitor you will know that I have a great interest in blogging and good blogs in particular. However, when you finally decide that you will make your own blog, you must choose somewhere online to host it for you. I'm lucky in that respect, as I post my own blog on my site (this site). However, for those who don't' have their own site as such but still would like to write their own blog, you might find that the WordPress.com " Get a Free Blog Here site not only will give you space to host your blog, but the tools to do it with as well, and all for free. Have a look and start your own blog soon.
One person who did start his own blog is a fellow by the name of Seth, and his blog, called Seth's Blog which makes sense, is a blog with an interesting view point on many subjects. Have a look and maybe it will inspire you to start your own blog and share your thinking with us all. Seth certainly did.
Most folk find the need, at times, for a helping hand with things around the home. It might pay you to have a look at the 700 of the best Household Tips, that save time and money! site and see if there is something there that might help you in your own home. Surprisingly enough, I learned a trick or two here myself and you might too. Have a look and judge for yourself.
Seeing as I have a new computer there are various things from the net that I must download and install so that I can get the best the net has to offer. For instance, today I downloaded and installed the Adobe - Adobe Flash Player program that runs in the background because I will need it to see something of the best websites. If you don't have it you should as well. It's free and it will enhance your browsing pleasure.
Now that I have the Adobe Flash player I can enjoy sites like the BBC - Science & Nature - Space - Solar System Jigsaw puzzle online, and other games on this site as well. You don't only use Flash to play games but having it allows you to play some that won't work without it as well as see other interesting web content. Go ahead and give it a try. You know you want to *smile*.
One of my wife and my favourite television shows is the Antiques Road Show, both the British and the American one. The program mentions that their website, called BBC - Antiques can be a help in learning things about your own treasures. It does contain a lot of information about antiques so have a look. Amazing what you might have hidden away in your home isn't it?
If you enjoy keeping up with the latest in the world of technology you may find the popurls site, which says it is "popular urls to the latest web buzz" is just the ticket to keeping informed. I think it's great. See what you think.
My wife and I recently saw the film with Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy called Wild Hogs. I must admit that it started me thinking again about owning my own Harley and travelling the road. Unfortunately that won't happen in my case as health would prevent it. However it hopefully doesn't prevent it for you as well, and to pique your interest have a look at the Sturgis Rally Top 10 site. If you've ever owned a Harley, or like me dreamed of owning one, the Sturgis is the one Rally you would love to be on and these photos show that many other folk do just that. Great site with some lovely user submitted photos of a wonderful ride.
There are some strange sites online, which are not necessarily all that bad, just strange. One such site is a site that will convert your writing into a strange form of text indeed. The site, named simply lame certainly lives up to its name. And what does the text look like when you're through? "1f U enJoy Se3InG t3xt |1Ke Thiz U'll lov3 th1z s1te." It will look like that. Now you must admit, the name says it all. Give it a try.
